'I was depressed': Serwaa Amihere recounts 'embarrassing' viral video from 2024
TV star Serwaa Amihere has recalled the trying times she went through in 2024 after a video of her sharing an intimate moment with a man identified as Henry 'Fitz' Amponsah went viral in April.
Though "many of you didn't see my cry," she noted, "I was depressed, actually."
She was speaking to an audience of young people who were "mostly in the university" during a 2025 thanksgiving service.
"You need to be extremely careful and picky of the choices and decisions you make today, while you're young," she repeatedly admonished.
"Because six, seven, five, two years later, it will come back and bite you really hard in the face.
"And that's exactly what happened to me last year."
Ms Amihere emphasised she was going to say this last year but she refrained.
"But then I'd be doing you a lot of disservice if I don't say it this year," she added.
She went ahead to thank a female friend who was present at the programme, who apparently visited her during the tough times, took out her out to Osu for a cup of ice cream and went with her on a long drive that nearly ended up in Aburi, Eastern Region.
In the middle of the controversy, Serwaa Amihere posted an apology dated April 24, 2024, on Instagram (IG), noting: “Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration that this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you.”
According to her, the video was recorded in 2019.
