'I won’t fight a divorce' – Florence Obinim opens up on marriage struggles
Gospel musician Florence Obinim has publicly expressed her readiness to end her marriage to Bishop Daniel Obinim if that is the direction her husband chooses, revealing deep frustrations over what she describes as years of unappreciated sacrifices and patience.
Speaking in an interview with GhPage on YouTube on June 16, 2026, Florence opened up about the growing challenges in her marriage to the founder of the International God’s Way Church, saying she has done everything possible to preserve the relationship but feels her efforts have gone unnoticed.
According to the singer, she has remained humble, patient, and supportive throughout their years together, yet she believes Bishop Obinim does not appreciate the kind of woman she has been to him.
Florence disclosed that she recently had a serious conversation with her husband about the length of their marriage and the role she has played as a wife over the years. During the discussion, she reminded him of her calm nature, humility, and commitment to the marriage, stressing that she has endured a lot in silence.
Despite her efforts, she said she has reached a point where she does not understand what more her husband expects from her.
The gospel artiste further stated that while she has always exercised restraint, she cannot be pushed beyond her limits or be expected to satisfy demands that could put her life or well-being at risk.
She made it clear that if Bishop Obinim decides he wants a divorce, she will not stand in his way.
Florence also hinted at undisclosed issues concerning her husband's life, suggesting that there are matters she could publicly speak about but has deliberately chosen to keep private.
According to her, there are certain things she is entitled to that would bring her peace of mind, but whenever she is denied those things, she chooses to remain silent rather than create public drama. She added that if she needs to provide certain things for herself, she simply goes ahead and does so.
The singer indicated that revealing some of the things she knows about Bishop Obinim would not paint a pleasant picture, but she has continued to exercise restraint for the sake of peace.
Beyond expressing her frustrations, Florence appealed to the public to pray for her husband. She also called on Bishop Obinim’s junior pastors and people within his inner circle to intercede and offer support, stating that the situation in their marriage is becoming increasingly concerning.
