Ghanaian rapper Kweku Flick has publicly thrown his support behind fellow musician Kwesi Arthur following the latter’s explosive allegations of exploitation and intimidation by his former record label, Ground Up Chale.

In an emotional social media post, Flick shared a heartfelt message expressing solidarity and concern for Arthur, acknowledging the heavy emotional strain the ongoing dispute may have caused.

“I now understand why all our collaborations couldn’t happen,” Flick wrote.

“I’ve been worried about this for a long time… not knowing it wasn’t his fault.”

The message, posted alongside a collage of the two artists, came shortly after Kwesi Arthur released a detailed statement accusing the label and members of its management — particularly Glen Boateng — of maintaining control over his image, music, and brand even after his departure.

Arthur also alleged that he had been asked to pay $150,000 to use images of himself in a recent independent project.

Flick admitted that he had previously questioned Arthur’s distance but has since realised that behind-the-scenes pressures and contractual challenges may have played a major role.

“I love you @KWESIARTHUR_,” he added. “If God says you’re the chosen one, who be man? Don’t ever lose your mind my brother. Stay strong. Your mental well-being matters, and I’m always here if you need me.”

The exchange has resonated widely across social media, sparking conversations about mental health, artist independence, and the hidden struggles musicians often face within the industry.

Many fans and creatives have praised Flick for his empathy and openness, describing his words as a powerful show of brotherhood during a difficult time.

As Kwesi Arthur’s claims continue to stir debate within the music space, industry observers say the situation could reignite calls for stronger protections and fairer contracts for artists navigating record label relationships.
