Moliy’s “Shake It to the Max” makes waves on UK charts amid fierce competition

Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter Moliy Ama Montgomery, known professionally as Moliy, is once again capturing international attention with her latest hit single, “Shake It to the Max (Fly).
” The high-energy track, produced in collaboration with Jamaican-American producer Silent Addy, features dancehall heavyweights Skillibeng and Shenseea.
Released in 2024, the song quickly gained viral traction on TikTok, helping it soar to the No. 1 spot on the UK Afrobeats Singles Chart and peaking at No. 13 on the UK Singles Chart.
It marks Moliy’s second major chart success following her breakout 2021 hit “Sad Girlz Luv Money” with Amaarae and Kali Uchis, which debuted at No. 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and climbed to No. 29 in the UK.
“Shake It to the Max” is currently in fierce competition with other major Afrobeat and dancehall releases, including Rema’s “Baby (Is It a Crime?)”, Asake’s latest hit, and Tems’ “Get It Right.”
Born on October 4, 2001, Moliy has quickly established herself as a bold new voice in African music.
Her debut EP Wondergirl, released in 2020, earned airplay in Ghana and across countries like Nigeria, The Gambia, and Kenya.
