Nana Acheampong releases 'soul-stirring' tribute to 'brother' and music 'trailblazer' Daddy Lumba Thurs Aug 21

Highlife legend Nana Acheampong has revealed he has recorded a tribute song for his "brother" and Lumba Brothers partner, Charles Kwadwo 'Daddy Lumba' Fosu, who passed on July 26, 2025.
On Facebook, Acheampong said the song, titled Due K. Fosu, would be released tomorrow, Thursday, August 21, 2025.
He said while Lumba's passing was a great loss, this moment was simultaneously a time for reflecting on the life and achievements of "trailblazer".
He said his tribute song was "soul-stirring" and that listeners would find it a creative way to showcase "the essence of our bond and the impact of his music on generations".
Nana Acheampong drew Daddy Lumba away from Gospel into the Highlife tradition and in the 80s, as the Lumba Brothers, the two found sensational success. They would split later and become two parallel giants of the genre.
"In the realm of Ghanaian music, few names shine as brightly as my brother. A trailblazer, an icon, a legend. His passing leaves a void that can never be filled. But as we mourn his departure, we also celebrate his life, his music, his enduring legacy," Nana Acheampong said in his Facebook post.
“I pay my heartfelt tribute to Kojo Fosu with a soul-stirring song that captures the essence of our bond and the impact of his music on generations [broken heart emoji]."
"Join me as I remember Daddy Lumba's contributions to Ghana's rich musical heritage and honor his memory with this tribute song [music emoji] #DaddyLumba #NanaAcheampong #GhanaianMusic #Tribute."
