Okyeame Quophi debunks domestic violence rumours, reveals real cause of wife’s ‘bloodied eye’

Rap and media star Okyeame Quophi has categorically stated he has “never ever in my life” hit his wife and TV presenter Stacey Amoateng before, debunking rumours of domestic violence in his home.
He spoke to Nana Romeo on Okay FM, revealing things he was incapable of doing, including killing and stealing.
He bemoaned the concerning penchant of some people to spread false allegations about others.
“But if you’re a wise person, you don’t rush to answer these allegations,” he calmly noted.
He advocated being “honest to yourself, your good character and principles” at all times, especially in the face of damning allegations.
He said it was only natural for people to speculate rightly or otherwise based on their point of view but “ultimately, I ask myself if it’s true, and if it’s not, I’m good to go [about my life guilt-free]”.
He said he had heard the domestic violence rumour “a million times [and] that’s how come I raised it [myself] that I can never hit my wife”.
According to Okyeame Quophi, his wife has always had a problem with one of her eyes, apart from being cross-eyed, something, he added, his son also had. He said it was common for his wife’s problematic eye to be occasionally infected.
“But in our society, if a woman is seen with blood on her eyes, it is swiftly concluded she has been beaten by her husband. I think that was the reason [for the rumour] and [the condition] lasted for a while, causing her to wear shades, and using a lot of medication,” he explained.
Quophi, half of the iconic Hiplife group Akyeame, said he was well-trained by an honourable Fante mother, and his strong respect for women would not allow him to abuse any woman, much less his own wife.
“May God not forgive me if I ever do that. No, I don’t do that,” he concluded.
