Shatta Wale reacts to 'fraud boy' speculations; 'I'm clean, my success is from music'

“I'm a clean boy; my success is from music,” musician Shatta Wale has asserted in a viral video.
The video comes after the FBI has made several arrests of Ghanaian individuals, including one Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng, alias Kofi Boat – a Wale associate – over alleged romance and inheritance scam activities.
Some people on social media have speculated about Shatta Wale’s involvement in the crime.
“You people are watching my life, and anytime there is an issue in Ghana, you like to drag me into it,” Wale bemoaned in response in the video, watermarked by GH Hyper.
He accused his critics of bias and false accusation.
“You guys are making a mistake with my name. I am a very clean boy. Just because your artiste, your industry favourite, cannot pull the kind of things I can pull, you assume I am into fraud. You are free to tell people I am into fraud,” he said.
The On God hitmaker averred his innocence, emphasised the wealth he famously touts were legitimately acquired, and expressed confidence in the FBI’s due process.
“One thing the white people coming here do is that they research. They are not stupid. They saw my Rolls-Royce and knew how I acquired the funds to purchase it. It’s music money. It’s not fraud; it’s hard work and dedication. So don’t make a mistake,” he said.
In view of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the US Department of Justice announced law enforcement efforts to undo criminal networks that target elderly Americans, with three separate indictments involving Ghanaian nationals unsealed in the US.
