GTA launches Heritage Month to celebrate culture and identity
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA), has announced the launch of this year’s Heritage Month, a celebration aimed at highlighting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and promoting national identity.
The event is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10 AM, and will take place at the Nationalism Park.
The theme for this year’s Heritage Month is “Celebrating Our Culture, Preserving Our Identity,” reflecting the country’s commitment to honouring its traditions while safeguarding cultural assets for future generations.
According to the GTA, the launch will feature cultural performances, exhibitions, and activities designed to engage Ghanaians and visitors alike, providing an opportunity to explore the nation’s history, arts, and creative expressions.
Heritage Month, an annual initiative by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, seeks to strengthen national pride, encourage cultural preservation, and boost tourism across Ghana. The month's activities include Ghana's Independence Day celebration on March 6.
