Environmental Health Officer Stella Gabriel told Kumasi FM's Elisha Adarkwah that all the car doors were locked, prompting her team and the police to force entry through the driver’s side.
She noted that the advanced state of decomposition made immediate identification difficult.
The officers disinfected the bodies and the surrounding area before the remains were conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue for preservation and further investigation, including a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Police have since commenced investations into the incident.
