CAGD explains delay in payment of two allowances for November
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a delay in the payment of two categories of allowances for November 2025, attributing the setback to a technical challenge encountered during the final payroll run.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, the Department said the technical hitch made it necessary to pause the processing of the affected allowances in order to prevent any disruption to the timely payment of November salaries for all Government of Ghana workers.
According to the CAGD, the decision was taken to ensure that regular monthly salaries were not delayed while the issue was being fixed.
The statement was signed by Cephas N. Doso, Head of Public Relations, on behalf of the Controller and Accountant-General.
The Department assured workers—especially those in the education sector, most affected by the delay—that the outstanding allowances will be fully settled alongside December 2025 salaries.
“The outstanding allowances will be paid together with the December 2025 salaries on 18th December 2025,” the statement confirmed.
CAGD expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and thanked all affected workers for their patience as the technical issue was resolved.
