Come and let's debate 2024 mid-year budget review: Minority to Bawumia
The Minority in Parliament has invited Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer, to participate in a debate on the 2024 mid-year budget review, which was presented by Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam on Tuesday, July 23.
The Minority believes that the debate will provide Dr. Bawumia with an opportunity to discuss his views on the current economic situation and the hardships faced by Ghanaians.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, July 24, and signed by Deputy Minority Whip Ahmed Ibrahim, it was announced that the debate is scheduled to commence on Thursday, July 25.
The statement emphasised that parliamentary rules allow a sitting Vice President to engage in debates on the floor of the House.
The NDC MPs argue that this debate will allow Dr Bawumia to account for his role over the past seven and a half years as Chairman of the Economic Management Team and address the impact of his stewardship on the nation's economy.
