The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, together with the Board Chairman, Spencer Quaye, has conducted an inspection of the Authority’s former Greater Accra Regional Office located at 37 in Accra, following reports of alleged land misappropriation.

The visit was prompted by growing concerns that portions of the DVLA property have been rented out to a private company, while other sections have allegedly been sold for an estimated $3 million without the Authority’s consent.

In a further twist, a separate parcel of land purportedly allocated to DVLA as a replacement for the 37 office is reportedly not registered in the name of the Authority, but rather in the name of a private developer.

Addressing the media after the inspection, Mr. Kotey expressed deep concern over the developments and assured the public that the DVLA would pursue all legal avenues to reclaim ownership of the affected properties.

“We shall not relent in using every legal means to get our land back,” he stated firmly.

The DVLA has pledged to fully cooperate with relevant state agencies to investigate the matter and ensure accountability.
