Energy Minister Jinapor hails success of AOW: Energy 2025 in Accra

Ghana’s Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has expressed deep appreciation to delegates, sponsors, and partners who contributed to the success of Africa Oil Week (AOW): Energy 2025, which opened in Accra with more than 1,200 participants.
Describing the gathering as a landmark platform for Africa’s energy sector, the minister thanked the Presidency of Ghana, John D. Mahama, fellow African ministers, international dignitaries, and corporate partners who supported the event. Industry giants including ExxonMobil, Chevron, ENI, Seplat, FIRST E&P, Oando, and TGS were singled out for their strong commitment to advancing Africa’s upstream industry.
“AOW: Energy is not just a conference — it is a platform where deals are done, where the region can converge, and where Africa celebrates its industry with pride,” Jinapor said.
“Together with Sankofa Events, Ghana is proud to host this unique gathering that reflects our strength of purpose, our unity, and our shared ambition for the future.”
John Jinapor emphasised that the event had positioned Ghana as a hub for dialogue, investment, and regional collaboration, adding that the platform belonged to Africa and should serve as a catalyst for growth, energy security, and prosperity.
The energy minister also marked the 40th Anniversary of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), describing it as a milestone of resilience and national achievement, and a clear demonstration of what African institutions could achieve with vision and determination.
“What we have witnessed here in Accra is the beginning of something much bigger,” Jinapor noted.
“The partnerships we build, the investments we attract, and the unity we forge at AOW: Energy will shape Africa’s energy future.”
As the week unfolds, AOW: Energy 2025 is already being hailed as a defining platform for Africa’s upstream development — a space where governments, investors, and industry leaders move beyond dialogue to action, ensuring the continent’s resources delivered maximum value for its people.
