Nii Ayi Okoforobour Barima I, Chief of Lafa Barimba under the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area, has firmly refuted assertions that no community named Lafa exists, describing the claims as baseless, misleading, and at odds with established historical and geographical facts.

His response follows the circulation of a viral video on social media in which Nii Ayinsah Sasraku III, Dzasetse and Acting Plenor of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area, was alleged to have stated that no community called Lafa falls under the traditional jurisdiction.

Addressing journalists, Nii Ayi Okoforobour Barima I urged the public to dismiss the assertion, insisting that Lafa is a duly recognized and long-established settlement within the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area.

According to the chief, residents, traditional authorities, and key stakeholders are fully aware of Lafa’s existence and its contributions to the cultural heritage and development of the area. He argued that attempts to deny the community’s status distort both history and fact.

“The people of Lafa have lived in this traditional area and contributed to its progress for generations. Any claim suggesting that the community does not exist is factually incorrect and only serves to breed confusion and unnecessary controversy,” he stated.

Nii Ayi Okoforobour Barima I also cautioned against the spread of unverified information, particularly on social media where misinformation can quickly mislead the public. He reaffirmed Lafa’s legitimacy as part of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Area and called on all parties to uphold truth, unity, and respect for established traditional structures.
