GA/R: Rebecca Foundation trains 27 women in soap-making skills in Accra Anglican Diocese
Former First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo has expressed her delight after the Rebecca Foundation successfully completed a week-long soap-making training programme for 27 women in the Accra Diocese of the Anglican Church.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo, who described the event as her first formal engagement since leaving office, said the experience reaffirmed her long-standing commitment to women’s empowerment.
The trainees received practical lessons in producing liquid soap, laundry soap, bleach, fabric softeners and other household cleaning products.
At the end of the programme, they were awarded certificates and provided with start-up kits to help them launch their own small businesses.
She commended the participants for their dedication and thanked the trainer, partners, and church leadership for supporting the initiative.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo added that the Foundation plans to extend the training to more communities to enable more women to acquire sustainable livelihood skills.
“Together, we’re building stronger, more self-reliant families and communities,” she said.
