The Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, on Friday, 19th September 2025, embarked on a familiarisation visit to the Tema Fishing Harbour and the Golden Jubilee Terminal as part of efforts to deepen his understanding of operational activities and ongoing projects.

At the Fishing Harbour, the Director-General toured the fish market and inspected projects, including the newly completed Fishing Harbour Clinic.

The facility, built to provide healthcare for fisherfolk and market women, is expected to address the pressing medical needs of the community.

General Manager of the Fishing Harbour, Ing. Stephen Yeboah Ampiaw, explained that the clinic was conceived to bridge gaps in healthcare access for the fishing enclave.

Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono praised the project as a “vital intervention” and directed that steps be expedited to operationalise the facility.

Later at the Golden Jubilee Terminal, the Director-General observed the ongoing 24-hour operations, assessing their impact on cargo handling and service delivery.

He interacted with staff, commending them for their dedication while assuring them of management’s commitment to addressing operational challenges.

Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono reaffirmed his determination to provide the necessary support to enhance efficiency, strengthen trade facilitation, and ensure stakeholders benefit fully from port services.

The visit forms part of a series of engagements aimed at motivating staff, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring that projects under the Authority are put to effective use.
