Ghana to discover oil in Northern, Central and Volta Regions - Prophet Stephen Ask-Ackrong reveals
Prophet Stephen Ask-Ackrong, General Overseer of the Focus Outreach Movement, has prophesied an onshore oil discovery for Ghana.
Addressing his congregation on Sunday, the religious leader stated that the nation is on the brink of announcing a new oil find, distinct from its existing offshore resources.
"Get ready to hear good news about a new oil discovery in Ghana. My prayer is that it will be a blessing to the nation and not a few families," Ask-Ackrong
He specifically outlined a vast geographical scope for the purported discovery, claiming it would span "from the Northern Region, through the Volta Region to the Central Region."
"Very huge," he said. "The announcement, very soon you will hear that announcement that Ghana has discovered a new oil, not from the sea."
The prophecy also included a caution regarding the management of the potential resource.
The Prophet prayed for the exposure of "any family that wants to take what belongs to the nation for their girlfriends and their families," hinting at concerns over resource mismanagement and corruption.
While the claims have generated excitement among some followers, they remain a religious prophecy and have not been corroborated by official geological surveys or government sources. Ghana's current oil production is primarily from offshore fields in the Western Region.
The Focus Outreach Movement, led by Prophet Ask-Ackrong, is a charismatic church in Ghana. Such prophecies concerning national economic and political fortunes are a common feature in some segments of the country's religious landscape, often stirring public debate.
Officials from the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) have not yet issued any statement regarding the prophecy or announced any new onshore exploration results.
