A Ghanaian couple, Dr. Daniel Lokko and Dr. Mrs. Doretta Lokko, say they are deeply distressed over what they describe as unlawful encroachment on their land at Dzornaman, Adjiriganor, in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the couple, even though several court injunctions have been issued in their favour, some individuals continue to trespass on their property—allegedly with the support of certain senior officers within the Ghana Police Service.

Speaking to the media, a spokesperson for the Lokko family, Ali, explained that the family has held a land title certificate for the property for more than 20 years.

Despite this, construction activities have recently begun on the land, including the putting up of multi-storey apartment buildings, all in defiance of the court orders.

The matter is currently before the court, yet the encroachment continues.

The identities of some of those behind the construction remain unknown.

One individual, Obed Ewuah, is suspected to be involved based on covert surveillance carried out by the family.

Workers on the site have refused to disclose who owns the property or who the foreman is, making it even more difficult for the family to trace those responsible.

Ali said they have made every effort to locate the people behind the development, but have so far been unsuccessful.

The Lokko family is urging anyone involved in the construction to come forward and help resolve the matter through the court process.

They warn that failure to do so may result in legal action, including possible demolition of any structures raised unlawfully.

“We urge the individual or group behind this development to meet us in court or through our lawyers.

If they refuse, we will take every lawful step necessary to protect our property,” the family stated.
