The Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, has officially inaugurated the Grant Management Committee of the Adwumawura Programme, marking a major milestone in the rollout of the government’s flagship youth entrepreneurship initiative.

The inauguration represents a critical phase in the implementation of the Adwumawura Programme, as it underscores government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and equity in the management of public funds entrusted to the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).

Speaking at the ceremony, the minister reaffirmed government’s strong commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

He emphasised that the Adwumawura Programme goes beyond the provision of funding and is focused on building resilient and competitive businesses capable of driving inclusive national development.

The minister charged committee members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, fairness, and diligence in the execution of their mandate.

The Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, Eric Adjei ESQ, in his remarks, highlighted the importance of inclusiveness, equity, impact, and innovation in the committee’s work.

He noted that the committee is expected to be deliberate in selecting at least 2,000 viable businesses that demonstrate strong potential for growth and sustainability.
