Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed: Tamale Central constituent breaks down in tears remembering how ‘very truthful’ and hardworking MP, Minister was

An unidentified constituent of Tamale Central has eulogised his MP, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who has passed in a fatal helicopter crash.
Dr Mohammed died alongside seven others, including Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah, in a Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Z9 helicopter which was reported missing after taking off from Accra to Obuasi today, Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The helicopter crashed and all eight people aboard were burned beyond recognition.
Northern Regional Minister Ali Adolf John formally informed the minister and MP’s family members of his passing.
Speaking to Class News, a man broke down in tears recalling the integrity and dedication of Dr Mohammed in his public service.
He noted he had spoken to the minister “personally on phone,” for about 20 minutes, concerning an event scheduled for Saturday, August 9, 2025.
“We were in the preparation when he said he was moving out of Accra,” he added.
The man eulogised, “Honourable Murtula is a brother, and a friend and somebody who is very truthful with the things he does in Tamale Central – not even in Tamale Central but in Ghana [as a whole].”
“Yesterday, in the evening, he sent somebody to me with appointment letters to be given to people. Since he became the MP of Tamale Central, we’ve had almost 273 people he has given employment to work. So we were expecting more from him but God has taken him so we have nothing to say. We leave everything in the hands of the almighty God,” he cited.
“And we know, we know…,” he emphasised, before he was overcome with grief.
