National Security bans flying of drones at January 7, presidential inauguration
The Ministry of National Security has announced a ban on drone operations at the Black Star Square and its environs during the presidential inauguration scheduled for January 7, 2025.
The directive, issued on Thursday, January 2, applies to all drones, including recreational and commercial devices, and aims to ensure the safety and security of dignitaries, guests, and the public attending the event.
In a statement, the Ministry of Information explained that the measure is part of heightened security protocols for the high-profile ceremony, which will host national and international figures.
“The restriction is essential to maintaining a secure environment during the inauguration.
We appeal to drone operators to comply with this directive and avoid flying drones in restricted areas,” the statement said.
The Ministry reassured the public of its commitment to delivering a safe and secure atmosphere for the historic event and urged citizens to cooperate with all measures in place
