“No structural failure” at Roman Ridge construction incident-Devtraco Plus clarifies
According to a statement issued by management, the incident occurred during the casting of the first-floor podium slab, when a localised section of temporary formwork — the supporting structure for freshly poured concrete — gave way.
The failure affected approximately 50 square meters of wet concrete.
The company said its project management and safety teams immediately activated emergency protocols.
Fourteen workers sustained minor to moderate injuries and were quickly transported to the 37 Military Hospital and Ridge Hospital for medical care.
“Twelve of the workers have been treated and are expected to be discharged by the close of the day, while two remain under observation and are in stable condition,” the statement confirmed.
Devtraco Plus emphasised that the incident did not involve any permanent structural failure, explaining that it was confined to the temporary works (formwork props) used during concrete casting.
“The permanent structural integrity of the building remains intact,” management stated, adding that all construction activities are being carried out in strict compliance with approved designs supervised by qualified and certified consultants.
The affected section has since been cordoned off, and a joint investigation is underway involving project consultants, safety officers, and contractors to determine the exact cause and implement preventive measures before work resumes.
“Our foremost priority remains the safety and well-being of all personnel on site,” the company stressed, expressing appreciation to partners, clients, and the public for their concern and understanding.
Devtraco Plus reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professional integrity, assuring stakeholders of its dedication to delivering a world-class project at Roman Ridge.
