PRINPAG congratulates Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Shamima Muslim on gov't communication appointments

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has extended its congratulations to Felix Kwakye Ofosu on his appointment as the Minister of State for Government Communications and Shamima Muslim on her appointment as Deputy Government Spokesperson.
In a statement jointly signed by PRINPAG’s Executive Secretary, Jeorge Wilson Kingson, and President, Andrew Edwin Arthur, the Association expressed confidence in the appointees’ ability to enhance government-media relations and tackle challenges confronting the media landscape in Ghana.
“The records of Felix Kwakye Ofosu and Madam Shamima Muslim in dealing with journalists are well known, and PRINPAG is confident that their vast experience will be brought to bear in fostering transparency, accountability, and effective engagement with journalists,” the statement read.
PRINPAG reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the government’s communication team to ensure the welfare and safety of journalists. The Association urged the newly appointed officials to champion media-friendly policies that promote press freedom and create an environment where journalists can work without fear or intimidation.
Additionally, PRINPAG called on the government’s communication team to remain accessible to the media, encourage constructive criticism, and introduce initiatives that support journalist capacity building and access to information.
The Association expressed optimism that the collaboration between government and media stakeholders would strengthen democracy and uphold responsible journalism in Ghana.
