The Ghana Police Service has updated its operational strategies following the violence that disrupted last year’s Ablekuma North by-election, according to Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

Speaking to Parliament, the Minister stated that the security services used the lessons learned from that chaotic incident to implement improved protocols. He noted that these enhanced measures successfully contributed to a more orderly by-election in Akwatia.

Mubarak announced that these refined strategies will now serve as the baseline for managing security in upcoming elections nationwide.

To further strengthen operations, the Interior Minister explained that the Police Service will collaborate closely with the Ghana Armed Forces and other security agencies to ensure comprehensive security management during electoral periods.
