Thanksgiving Service held for the Clerk to Parliament
A solemn thanksgiving service has been held to honour God for the appointment of Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror as the Clerk to Ghana’s Parliament.
The service took place at the Jehovah Shammah Assemblies of God at Ashongman Estate, where Mr Djietror worships.
The event brought together a large gathering from the Assemblies of God community, made up of pastors, Members of Parliament, church choirs from various congregations, and friends of the celebrant, many of whom were dressed in white.
Preaching on the theme, “The Leader’s Good Success,” the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, emphasised that true and lasting success in leadership comes from total dependence on God.
Referencing Joshua Chapter 1, he explained that “good success” is not merely achievement or status, but success based on competence, achievement and moral excellence.
Rev. Wengam charged Mr. Djietror to prioritise God’s presence in his new role, noting that public office comes with immense responsibility and challenges that require divine wisdom and strength.
He stressed that God alone is the ultimate defender in times of difficulty, encouraging the new Clerk to remain courageous, steadfast, and spiritually grounded as he serves the nation.
Delivering goodwill remarks, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, commended Mr. Djietror on his elevation and called on the church to continue praying for him.
He underscored the importance of spiritual support for national leaders, especially those entrusted with key administrative roles in governance.
The celebrant, Mr. Djietror, expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and to all who attended the service.
He pledged to serve with integrity, humility, and dedication, promising to uphold the values that have guided his life and career.
