A traditional leader, Nana Dua Kesse Tigre Atiga, has alleged that some Ghanaian politicians, including presidential candidates and Assembly Members, resort to rituals and spiritual sacrifices as part of the electoral process.

According to him, these practices often involve burying items, using human blood, and making promises to spirits, actions which he says can have long-term negative consequences for the country if not properly addressed.

Nana Dua Kesse warned that when new administrations assume office, presidents are likely to face serious challenges if the land is not spiritually cleansed.

He suggested that incoming leaders should work with traditional authorities to perform rituals of purification to restore balance and harmony.

The traditional leader further cautioned that the country’s water bodies, land, and deities are angered by the neglect of customs and the growing disregard for laws.

He argued that Ghanaians have abandoned traditional authority structures, ignoring the wisdom of kings, elders, and chiefs, a situation he believes has brought misfortune upon the nation, resulting in wanton accidents along the major roads in the country.
