'You can’t trace Ken Ofori-Atta's assets’ – NDC’s Ako Gunn reveals
The Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Ako Gunn, has commented critically on former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, accusing him of transferring his business shares into the names of other individuals and describing him as a “criminal.”
Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM’s Citizen Show, hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah, Mr. Gunn alleged that Mr. Ofori-Atta has relinquished ownership of his stakes in several companies, including Databank and Enterprise Insurance, making it difficult for anyone seeking accountability or compensation to trace assets directly to him.
According to Mr. Gunn, the former Minister has strategically moved his shares and properties to other people’s names, leaving only a few assets linked to him personally.
“If you want to get something from him today, there is very little you can point to,” he claimed.
“All his shares at Databank, Enterprise Insurance, and other companies have been transferred.”
Mr. Gunn further cited what he described as an example involving Mr. Ofori-Atta’s family property.
He alleged that the former Minister told relatives he was renovating the family house, but after completing the renovation, he decided to rent it out to recover his investment before returning it to the family.
“If someone can treat even his own family that way, how much more the whole country?” Mr. Gunn questioned.
“This is not the mindset Ghana needs.”
