Female Police officer shoots taxi driver dead in Tetegu
A female police officer has shot and killed a taxi driver at Tetegu in the Greater Accra Region, around 11 PM on Monday.
According to eyewitnesses, the officer boarded the taxi from Dansoman and threatened to shoot the driver when they reached Tetegu junction over pricing.
The threat was carried out, and the driver was shot in the chest.
The officer, who is stationed at the National Headquarters, attempted to flee the scene by throwing away her pistol and running into a nearby bush.
However, she was knocked down by an Uber driver and subsequently handed over to the Weija police patrol team by Okada riders.
The officer is currently in custody at the New Weija District Police Command, where she is receiving treatment.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
