The prosecution is expected to close its case this week in the trial of former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, and two other accused persons over the alleged theft of GH¢49.1 million belonging to the Government of Ghana.

The Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Justice Srem-Sai, disclosed in a Facebook post that state prosecutors, working with investigators from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), have presented what he described as a strong body of evidence before the trial court.

According to Dr Srem-Sai, the prosecution's evidence seeks to establish that the GH¢49.1 million was public money held in a bank account belonging to a government institution.

Kwabena Adu-Boahene and the two other accused persons are facing charges including theft and causing financial loss to the state.
