Spintex: Police engage in gun battle with 2 robbers at Pan African Savings and Loans
There has been a daylight robbery at the Pan African Savings and Loans, located next to FBN Bank on Spintex Road, Accra.
The heist, executed by two young armed robbers, has left the community in shock.
A viral video of the incident, has since been circulating on social media.
According to eyewitnesses, the robbers trailed an individual carrying a bag full of cash to the bank.
Reports indicate that the robbers had been hovering around Top Pharmacy, situated opposite the bank, waiting for the opportune moment to strike.
The robbery escalated into an intense exchange of gunfire between the robbers and the police.
Despite the police's efforts, the robbers managed to escape with the stolen cash.
Witnesses to the incident have criticised the police response, suggesting that a delay may have contributed to the robbers' successful getaway.
No casualties were reported, but the brazen nature of the robbery has raised concerns about security in the area.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the robbery and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
