1,021 candidates sits WASSCE in Nkwanta South amidst renewal clash

The Nkwanta South Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Jonathan Korsina, has assured the public of the safety and well-being of candidates taking part in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) within the municipality.
According to Mr. Korsina, despite recent reports of renewed clashes in parts of the area, effective security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and smooth examination process for students from the four Senior High Schools in the municipality.
Speaking to Class News, he noted that the exams, which commenced on Monday, August 4, with practical sessions, began without incident.
He emphasised that security personnel have been deployed across examination centres to provide adequate protection and maintain order.
“The students are safe, and the environment is secure,” Mr. Korsina stated.
“There is peace in Nkwanta South, contrary to how it is being portrayed by some.
Our candidates are writing the exams in a calm and supportive atmosphere.”
He further urged the candidates to remain focused and confident, reminding them that they have been adequately prepared for the exams.
Mr. Korsina also expressed optimism that the municipality would record no cases of examination malpractice.
The Municipal Education Directorate continues to work closely with security agencies and school authorities to ensure the integrity and success of this year’s WASSCE.
