A/R: Abrepo Junction Assembly Member donates GHS 20,000 worth of books to students

The Assembly Member for Abrepo Junction in the Ashanti Region, Bosie Amponsah, has donated books valued at GHS 20,000 to underprivileged students in basic schools within his electoral area.
The beneficiary schools included State Boys JHS, State Girls JHS, Bantama Presby School, Bantama Methodist School, New Bantama M/A Primary School, Block B JHS, and several others.
According to Mr. Amponsah, the donation was motivated by a touching encounter with a student who pleaded with him for a book during a school visit.
Further inquiries with teachers and heads of schools revealed that many students were attending classes without books or writing materials, making it difficult for them to complete assignments and affecting their academic performance.
“I was not only sad but also shocked to discover how many students lacked basic learning materials.
That pushed me to act,” Mr. Amponsah explained.
The initiative was supported by members of the Abrepo Junction community abroad, who joined efforts with the Assembly Member to purchase and distribute the books.
During the presentation, Mr. Amponsah urged the students to take their studies seriously and make good use of the support provided.
He also commended the diaspora community for its generosity.
Teachers and school authorities expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that would significantly improve teaching and learning in the schools.
