Ghana condemns Israel’s attack on Qatar, calls for dialogue and respect for international law

The Government of Ghana has joined the international community in condemning what it described as Israel’s unprovoked attack on Qatar, aligning with positions taken by the United Nations, the African Union, and several other governments.
According to an official statement signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, President John Dramani Mahama has conveyed a message of solidarity to the Emir of Qatar through the countries’ respective foreign ministries.
Ghana reaffirmed its longstanding commitment to peace in the Middle East, urging all parties to embrace dialogue, diplomatic rapprochement, and respect for international law.
The government further reiterated its support for a two-state solution as the only sustainable pathway to lasting peace in the region, while also calling for the immediate release of all hostages.
The statement emphasised that Ghana’s position is consistent with its foreign policy principles of promoting peace, justice, and multilateral cooperation.
