AUCC now AUCB

The African University College of Communications (AUCC) in the Greater Accra Region has officially transitioned into the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) after receiving its charter certificate on Wednesday, December 19, 2024.

The attainment of the charter marks a significant milestone for the institution, reflecting years of dedication and hard work by its community.

The transition also comes with a rebranding initiative, including a new name and logo, symbolizing a fresh chapter in the university’s journey.

As a fully chartered institution, AUCB will now operate independently, setting its academic standards and awarding its own degrees.

This development underscores the university's commitment to excellence in education, particularly in communications and business disciplines.

In a statement announcing the milestone, AUCB expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who played a role in making the achievement possible.

These include the President of Ghana, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), the Ministry of Education, the AUCB Governing Council, faculty, non-teaching staff, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), and the entire student body.

The institution acknowledged the unique privilege of the current SRC leaders, who will go down in history as the first to serve under the AUCB name.

“This is a big deal for us, and it shows how hard our community has worked.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved!” said Sattey Yaw Stephen, speaking on behalf of the institution.

AUCB is optimistic about its future as it embarks on this new journey.

The university aims to build on its legacy while expanding its impact through innovative academic programmes and initiatives in communications and business.

“This milestone is not just a recognition of past efforts but a call to achieve even more in the years ahead,” the statement concluded.
