Agona East to hold education month activities
The Member of Parliament for Agona East Constituency in the Central Region, Obaatanpa Maame Pokuah, in partnership with the District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Oscar Mensah, and the Agona East District Education Director, Miss Phillis Asante Krobea is set to organise a three-day Education Month programme from 11th to 13th February 2026.
The initiative forms part of efforts to improve educational infrastructure, support students, and strengthen the overall delivery of education in the district.
Day One of the programme will feature sod-cutting ceremonies for the construction of ten six-unit classroom blocks across several communities, including AEDA schools at Akwakwaa, Amakakraba, Mansofo, Mangoase Mensakrom, Asafo, Ankama, and others.
The day will also include sod-cutting for the construction of five dormitory facilities at Namanwura (one boys’ and one girls’ dormitory), Nsaba, and Kwanyarko.
On Day Two, the MP and district officials will inspect 15 ongoing education-related projects across the district.
The day’s activities will also include the distribution of furniture to selected schools to enhance teaching and learning conditions.
Day Three will focus on student welfare and support, with the disbursement of annual scholarship funds to 50 brilliant but needy tertiary students from the district.
The programme will conclude with a meeting with school feeding caterers to discuss challenges and improve the effectiveness of the school feeding programme.
The Education Month activities underscore the commitment of the MP, the District Assembly, and other stakeholders to advancing quality education and investing in the future of children and youth in the Agona East District.![]()
