CETAG calls off strike, gives gov't deadline to resolve issues
The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has called off its strike, giving the government until October to address all outstanding concerns.
CETAG President, Prince Obeng-Himah, announced that the decision to end the strike was based on assurances received from the Vice President's office, led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He stated that CETAG is giving the government until October to resolve all the issues involved.
The strike, which began on June 14, was triggered by the government’s failure to implement agreed-upon arbitral awards and service conditions as mandated by the National Labour Commission (NLC).
The strike left students stranded for two months, disrupting academic activities at colleges of education across the country.
