Otumfuor intervenes in KNUST Vice-Chancellor appointment brouhaha

In a significant turn of events, Otumfuor Osei Tutu, the Asantehene, has stepped in to address the ongoing legal dispute over the reappointment of Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson as Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for a second term in the Ashanti Region.
The Asantehene's intervention follows KNUST's acknowledgement of errors in the appointment process.
In response, Otumfuor Osei Tutu has issued an ultimatum to the university, demanding that it rectify these procedural irregularities promptly.
This development comes in the wake of an appeal filed by Kofi Clement Ohene Asare, an alumnus of KNUST, who contested the University Council's decision to renew Prof. Dickson's term at the Court of Appeal.
Otumfuor Osei Tutu's involvement underscores the validity of the concerns raised by Clement Ohene Asare regarding the appointment process.
His directive to the university to take corrective action highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the management of such crucial appointments.
