President Mahama announces GMA's postgraduate diploma upgrade

President John Mahama has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the Ghana Military Academy(GMA) through improved infrastructure and academic advancement.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 63rd Regular Course, the President outlined a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing military training and education in the country.
He announced plans to upgrade the Academy’s commissioning course to the level of a postgraduate diploma for newly commissioned officers.
This move, he said, is part of a broader strategy to elevate the quality and prestige of military education in Ghana.
President Mahama also reiterated the government’s dedication to the establishment of the National Defense University, a specialized institution that will offer strategic academic programmes for both military personnel and civilians.
He emphasized that the university will play a key role in advancing higher education while promoting military discipline and doctrine within the academic space.
According to the President, these initiatives will not only bolster the development of the Ghana Armed Forces but also contribute significantly to national development by integrating military values into the broader educational framework.
