A/R: Atwima Kwanwoma fire post at Twedie gets fire tender

On Friday, June 02, 2023, the Atwima Kwanwoma Fire Post at Twedie under the Ashanti Regional Fire Command led by ACFO I Henry Fatai Giwah took delivery of a 1,980 liters water capacity fire tender with extrication equipment and fire tunics from the Atwimahene to boost the operations of the Fire Post.
Presenting the keys of the fire engine to the Ashanti Regional Fire Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, the Atwimahene, Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong II, was grateful to the Murnau Council in Germany for donating the fire engine to Atwima Kwanwoma District thanks to an existing Sister-City Partnership between the City of Murnau and Atwima Kwanwoma District.
Nana Antwi Agyei Brempong II, however, implored on the government to get the main road linking Twedie to Kwadaso fixed to enable the fire engine to better serve the people in the Atwima Kwanwoma District.
The Regional Fire Commander, ACFO I Giwah, commended the efforts of the Atwimahene and assured him the fire tender will be put into good use.
He called on the support of corporate bodies, individuals, institutions and philanthropists to emulate the deeds of the Atwimahene and urged the public and residents alike to play active roles in reducing the number of fires and related emergencies since fire safety is a shared responsibility.
He also emphasized on the need for the Atwima Kwanwoma District to get a befitting Fire Station to enable the Officers and Men stationed at Twedie to give off their best.
Prince Karikari, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Atwima Kwanwoma assured the gathering that the Assembly has secured an office structure to serve as the Fire Station which is being refurbished to accommodate an appliance bay.
He stressed that the refurbishment of the said office structure will be completed in August, 2023 to allow for full occupancy by the Fire Service Personnel.
Mr Karikari implored the Personnel to also take care of the fire engine to enable it serve the good people of Atwima Kwanwoma District and its environs.
