In a powerful session at the Perez Chapel International’s Breakthrough Time, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, founder and prelate of Perez Chapel Churches, addressed his congregation on a recent warning from U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.

Blinken’s announcement on October 28, 2024, detailed a new visa restriction policy aimed at individuals seeking to undermine Ghana’s democracy in the lead-up to the nation’s December 7 elections.

The letter, titled Visa Restriction Policy on Undermining Democracy in Ghana, signals the U.S.’s firm stance in support of democratic stability. It states that those who engage in electoral manipulation, violence, or intimidation may face U.S. visa restrictions under Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Blinken emphasized that these restrictions target individuals, not the broader Ghanaian public or its government, and aim to uphold Ghana’s record of peaceful transitions and democratic integrity.

In his prayer, Archbishop Agyinasare underscored Blinken’s authority as the third most powerful figure in the United States, noting, “Such a declaration is rarely made unless there are pressing concerns we may not be fully aware of.”

He guided his congregation through fervent prayers, invoking Matthew 18:19 to unite the assembly in the spiritual defence of Ghana’s peace and stability.

With a commanding tone, the Archbishop urged congregants to pray against “assignments of hell” that threaten the nation’s democratic processes, calling upon divine intervention to thwart any plans of discord.

Leading them in a prayer that drew inspiration from Acts 12:20-23, he petitioned that those who intend harm to Ghana’s democracy “may perish in their seats, choked by the very water they drink or the food they consume.”

Archbishop Agyinasare also invoked a plea for Ghana’s borders to be marked with the blood of Jesus, declaring that “warring angels be activated to dismantle any forces planning mayhem and confusion.”

The congregation enthusiastically echoed his prayers, reinforcing the call for divine protection over the nation as it approaches a pivotal electoral moment.
