East Legon accident: Salifu Amoako's son not yet fit for police interrogation – UGMC
The University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) has published the medical report for Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako's 16-year-old son who was identified by police as the suspect driver who caused the October 12, 2024, East Legon accident that ended in the incineration of two 12-year-old girls.
"The above client presented to the University of Ghana Medical Centre on 12 October 2024. He was referred from Legon Hospital with an open right ankle dislocation and facial lacerations," the UGMC statement, dated October 29, and signed by Dr Fred Salawu, said.
"There was a brief period of loss of consciousness. He was managed by both the plastic and orthopedic surgeons."
The statement continued: "He had debridement, spanning right ankle external fixation and a flap cover on 14th October 2024. Findings at surgery were:
"1. An open right ankle joint dislocation with an unstable joint (Gastillo III B).
"2. Tear of the anterior and posterior talofibular and calcancofibular ligaments.
"On 21 October, he had split skin grafting of his post traumatic ulcer. He is currently mobilizing non weight bearing on his right leg."
"He was discharged on 28 October 2024 to be reviewed on O.P.D basis. He is currently not fit to be sent to the police station for interrogation," the statement revealed.
The statement concluded: "When he is done with treatment, I will inform you accordingly."
