Finance Ministry releases over GHS1.6 billion to MOFA, covering 85% of 2026 allocation
The Ministry of Finance has published official budget execution documents indicating that more than GHS1.6 billion has been released to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), representing approximately 85 percent of its 2026 budget allocation for Goods and Services and Capital Expenditure.
According to the documents, the releases form part of government’s approved fiscal commitments aimed at supporting agricultural programmes and related interventions under MOFA’s 2026 spending plan.
The disclosure confirms that the funds were disbursed in line with the Ministry’s budgetary provisions, covering key expenditure areas including Goods and Services as well as Capital Expenditure.
The development is expected to intensify ongoing public discussions on budget execution and fiscal transparency, particularly regarding the timing and classification of government releases to sector ministries.
Officials have maintained that all disbursements are carried out within the framework of approved budgetary processes and public financial management regulations.
The publication of the documents provides formal backing to the Ministry of Finance’s position on the level of financial support extended to MOFA within the 2026 fiscal year.
