Energy Minister visits TEN fields to push for increased oil production
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has undertaken a working visit to the Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel, FPSO John Evans Atta Mills, which serves the TEN oil fields offshore Ghana, as well as the Noble Venturer rig operations vessel.
The visit formed part of efforts to engage directly with technical teams and industry partners involved in sustaining and increasing oil and gas production in the country.
During the visit, Dr. Jinapor commended the workforce and operational teams for their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to maintaining high operational standards within Ghana’s offshore petroleum sector.
He noted that the TEN Fields remain one of Ghana’s most strategic offshore assets, playing a significant role in strengthening the country’s oil and gas industry while supporting power generation through reliable gas supply.
According to the Minister, gas produced from the TEN operations continues to contribute substantially to stable electricity generation for industries, businesses, and households across the country.
Dr. Jinapor also praised the safety standards maintained by the FPSO and rig teams, describing their adherence to safety protocols as among the highest in the industry.
He said the strong culture of operational discipline, environmental care, and personnel safety demonstrated at the offshore facilities reflects Ghana’s growing capacity within the petroleum sector.
The Minister further encouraged industry partners to remain innovative and collaborative in efforts to unlock greater value from Ghana’s petroleum resources.
He assured stakeholders of government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for sustained investment, operational efficiency, and increased production within the energy sector.
Government, he stressed, remains focused on maximizing the benefits of the country’s natural resources to support economic growth and national development.
