Mr Isaac Ashai Odamtten, Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, was honoured to be invited as a Special Guest to the 2025 May Day Commemoration organised by the Tema District Council of Labour. The event, held at the TOR Clubhouse in Tema Community 8, brought together workers from various sectors to celebrate their invaluable contributions to our society. As a staunch advocate for workers' rights and welfare, Mr. Odamtten seized the opportunity to express his appreciation for the dedication and hard work of all workers in the Tema District. He highlighted the importance of fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and the need for continuous efforts to improve the well-being of workers. Mr. Odamtten also took the moment to express his profound gratitude to the workers for re-electing him to represent them in Parliament for a second term, acknowledging the trust and confidence they had placed in him. He reiterated his commitment to serving their interests and addressing their concerns. Given this year's theme, "Resetting Pay and Working Conditions: The Role of Stakeholders," Mr. Odamtten emphasised the crucial role of collaboration between government, employers, and labour unions in addressing the evolving needs and challenges faced by workers. He stressed that collective efforts would be essential in driving meaningful change and ensuring a better future for workers. The May Day Commemoration provided a platform for dialogue, reflection, and solidarity among workers, union leaders, and government representatives. It served as a reminder of the collective strength and resilience of the labour force in driving socio-economic development and progress.
