Gov't holds strategy session with newly appointed Presidential Special Envoys
The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has held a high-level strategy session with the newly appointed Presidential Special Envoys, as part of efforts to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic outreach and advance key national priorities on the global stage.
The meeting brought together three distinguished envoys appointed by President John Dramani Mahama:
Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Presidential Special Envoy on Reparations
Dr. Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku, Presidential Special Envoy to the Middle East
King Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, Presidential Special Envoy to the Caribbean
The session focused on aligning strategic objectives, refining Ghana’s international engagement agenda, and outlining the expectations of the Presidency for each envoy’s mandate.
Commenting after the engagement, Mr Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, the sector Minister, expressed strong confidence in the appointees, emphasising that their expertise and global networks will significantly enhance Ghana’s diplomatic strength.
He explained that the envoys are expected to champion Ghana’s interests in their respective regions while supporting the broader goals of President Mahama’s administration.
The appointments form part of the government’s renewed efforts to expand international partnerships, promote economic cooperation, and secure greater opportunities for the Ghanaian people.
