Legal battle erupts over DNA test for child of late helicopter crash victim
A legal dispute has surfaced following the tragic August 6th military helicopter crash, centring on the late Mr. Samuel Aboagye, one of the eight victims who perished in the incident.
The conflict involves Mr. Aboagye's wife, who has reportedly refused to allow a DNA test to be conducted on their child as part of the ongoing police investigations into the identity of the year-old child.
According to sources close to the family, the request for the test is being obstructed due to an alleged extramarital affair.
It is claimed that the widow had been involved in a relationship with a sitting Member of Parliament from the Ashanti Region, a relationship that purportedly began before her husband's death.
The situation has escalated into a twin legal battle.
The Aboagye family has filed a lawsuit against the widow at the Obuasi Circuit Court, accusing her of obstructing a crucial police investigation.
In a countermove, the widow has also taken legal action, petitioning the court to issue an injunction that would formally stop the DNA testing procedure from moving forward.
The identity of the MP in question has not been officially disclosed, and the allegations remain before the courts as this deeply personal family matter unfolds amidst the backdrop of the announcement of the cause of the August 6, helicopter crash.
