Local Government Minister urges religious institutions to equip youth with practical skills

The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has called on religious bodies in Ghana to complement the government's efforts in equipping the youth with practical skills.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama at the Apostolic Faith Church's 2025 Annual Camp Meeting, themed Liberation, Mr Ibrahim emphasised the importance of collaboration between the government and religious institutions in addressing youth unemployment.

He commended religious institutions for their contributions to the country's development, urging them to help equip the youth with both spiritual and practical skills.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting youth development initiatives.

The minister also praised the church for bringing together participants from four ECOWAS countries to the annual camp meeting, which he noted would foster unity among the nations.
