Rescind your decision to strike – FWSC to CLOGSAG

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has called on the Civil and Local Governance Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to reconsider its decision to strike on Thursday,7 November 2024, and return to negotiations, expressing the government’s commitment to addressing their longstanding salary concerns.
Representing civil and local government workers nationwide, CLOGSAG announced the strike to protest delays in implementing a new salary structure that had been agreed upon in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) over 18 months ago.
The group highlighted that their members are frustrated, noting that the government’s continued delay has left them with "no choice but to take action."
FWSC has responded by urging CLOGSAG to reconsider the planned strike in favor of a return to dialogue.
“We wish to emphasise that the government is prepared to engage CLOGSAG in finding lasting solutions to its demands without undermining the principles underpinning the Single Spine Pay Policy,” an FWSC representative stated.
The commission stressed that an open dialogue could create a conducive environment for addressing the grievances.
“We, therefore, urge CLOGSAG to rescind its decision to embark on the strike action and return to the negotiating table for a timely resolution of their concerns,” FWSC added.
