WODAO urges President Mahama to appoint more PWDs to high political offices

The Executive Director of the Women with Disability Development and Advocacy Organization (WODAO), Madam Veronica Denyo Kofi Edu, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint competent and qualified Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) to high political offices.
She also urged the President to inaugurate the National Council on Persons with Disability (NCPWD) to amplify the voices of PWDs and ensure their active participation in national development.
Speaking to Class News, Madam Veronica Denyo Kofi Edu emphasized that including PWDs in governance would make the President’s vision of an all-inclusive government a reality.
In addition to her call for political inclusion, Madam Denyo Kofi Edu expressed concern over the location of the Ho Central Constituency MP’s office, which is situated on the second floor of a building.
She described the situation as discriminatory and inaccessible to persons with disabilities.
According to her, the MP’s office setup does not consider the needs of PWDs, making it difficult for them to engage in constituency activities.
She, therefore, appealed to the MP to relocate the office to a more accessible location to ensure that PWDs can fully participate in constituency affairs.
