Agenda 111 projects get boost: Health Minister vows completion
Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh is putting his money where his mouth is, pledging to complete the stalled Agenda 111 health projects.
Speaking at a Ministry's retreat, Akandoh emphasised his commitment to fulfilling President Mahama's vision, highlighting alternative financing models like Private Public Partnerships(PPPs) and franchising to get the job done.
With a GHS22 billion price tag, the Minister's got his work cut out.
President Mahama had previously allocated US$400 million, but none of the hospitals are operational.
"The money spent so far could've completed at least 22 hospitals," he noted.
The ball's now in Akandoh's court to deliver.
Deputy Minister Prof. Grace Ayensu Danquah chimed in on the need for contract clarity.
